The Non Alcoholic Wine People Aren’t Talking About

The Non Alcoholic Wine People Aren't Talking About - blog post image

Have you ever tried Stella Rosa wines? The winery is known for it’s award winning semi-sweet and sparkling wines. But did you know about the Stella Rosa non alcoholic line of wines the brand has created? Today we try out the four non alcoholic wine options along with another non alcoholic sparkling wine brand to see what’s best.

But stick around until the end because we also found a new non alcoholic sparkling wine alternative that blew our minds. So for all the bubbly fans out there, you won’t want to miss the reveal.

Stella Rosa Non Alcoholic Wine – Initial Thoughts

When you pick up a bottle of Stella Rosa wine, you shouldn’t be expecting something dry and bitter. Each bottle of the brand’s wine is more of a sweet or semi-sweet wine. So when it comes to the Stella Rosa non alcoholic wine, you should expect that same, sweeter taste when sipping on any of the flavors.

For their non alcoholic line, Stella Rosa offers four flavors: Red, Peach, Rosé, and Black.

Red is a combination of raspberry, strawberry and plum flavors. Peach is pretty well described. Rosé does not drink like the alcoholic version but is instead a little less fruity than Red, with notes of strawberry and other berries. Black is very berry tasting with blackberry, blueberry and raspberry flavoring.

What I immediately love about each bottle is that they are twist to open. The convenience of a twist top is always so nice.

But surprisingly, each flavor of Stella Rosa non alcoholic wine is bubbly. Sure, if you read closely, the back of the label hints at it being bubbly. But that was not what I was expecting when I first purchased these bottles. The bubbles weren’t as prominent as they are in a bottle of sparkling wine but it was still a nice touch.

Overall Thoughts

As someone who isn’t typically a fan of sweeter wines, I felt like each of these flavors would be better suited as a mixer for a tasty mocktail. Especially because each bottle is a little fizzy, it makes for an excellent faux cocktail ingredient. Mix a splash of Stella Rosa non alcoholic wine with your favorite sparkling water and some slices of fresh fruit and you got yourself a refreshing summer cocktail my friend.

Nutrition and Ingredients

Each 5 fl. oz. serving of a Stella Rosa non alcoholic wine is either 75 or 80 calories. There is quite a bit of sugar in each serving, with total sugars equaling 18g for each drink.

Stella Rosa Non Alcoholic Drink Recipes

You can always make yourself a mocktail of the usual suspects like a mimosa or sangria. But here are some fun non alcoholic drink recipes we have tried and loved with the Stella Rose non alcoholic wine!

Where to Buy It

There is nothing worse to me than finding something you like and then having a difficult time buying it again.

One of the best parts about Stella Rosa non alcoholic wine is that you can find it in so many places. The brand’s site even has an easy to use finder for each of their products in a particular area.

As far as the non alcoholic wine goes, not everywhere carries it. I have had the most luck at Total Wine or other local large beer and wine stores in my area. You can always call to check if they have a particular flavor in stock. Grocery stores in my area definitely carry Stella Rosa but they are hit or miss when it comes to Stella Rosa non alcoholic wine.

The Best, Tasty Alternative

Is (or was) your go-to drink of choice champagne or sparkling wine?

Well if so, then you’re going to be excited about our latest find! When I was at Total Wine to find the Stella Rosa non alcoholic wine to taste test for this post, I found one last bottle of another non alcoholic sparkling wine.

Personally speaking, I believe that the Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut is the best budget sparkling wine out there. So when I saw they had a non alcoholic version (the Freixenet Alcohol Free White), I figured it was worth the try.

Wow, it seriously did not disappoint!

First of all, opening it is just like your typical bottle of sparkling wine. It has the wire muzzle over top of the cork and it gives you the same satisfying pop. Also, the coloring and massive amount of bubbles was almost identical as well.

Basically, if I didn’t know it wasn’t non alcoholic, I could have been convinced this was actual wine because even the taste was pretty darn similar to the regular.

As someone who isn’t drinking right now, I feel like having something that feels exactly the same to the real thing could be too tempting. But honestly, if you still want to feel normal in social settings (not that being a non-drinker can’t be normal. It totally can!) or you have a big celebration and feel like it calls for something special, I highly highly recommend the Freixenet Alcohol Free White!

While sweet drinks aren’t usually my favorite, I was surprised how good the Stella Rosa non alcoholic wines can be if you mix them with other ingredients. But if you’re looking for a non alcoholic celebratory choice, the Freixenet Alcohol Free White is a clear winner. If you are hosting an event and looking for additional non alcoholic drink recommendations, we have a whole list of our favorite non alcoholic craft beers by category.

But as always, let us know what your favorites are or if you’d tried the Freixenet Alcohol Free White for yourself!
