Sleep is quite possibly my favorite pastime. So you can imagine how frustrated I became when in 2020 (hi, quarantine induced anxiety!) I began to stop sleeping through the night. On a regular basis I couldn’t fall asleep or stay asleep so I tried all the methods I could find. No screen time before bed, less or no caffeine during the day and all the other tried and true methods. And just when I thought I may start to lose it, I found the beam dream review that saved me.
I’m not kidding when I say beam’s dream powder was a game changer for me and I will break down all the reasons why in more detail later. But let’s take a look at what beam dream is, my personal beam dream review and all your other beam dream related questions!
A Beam Dream Review – By Category
What is Beam Dream?
Beam is the company behind a variety of hemp products that are focused on helping improve wellness. Dream is their powder or capsule formula that is made up of a magical combination to help you get your best sleep.
Beam dream powder has five main ingredients:
- Reishi
- Magnesium
- Nano hemp
- I-theanine
- Melatonin
All those ingredients combined form an amazing, tasty bed time sleep aid. One scoop of beam dream is also zero calories, fat, protein and carbs.
Why You Will Love It
After weeks of not sleeping through an entire night, you could say I was desperate. Maybe if I had been less desperate, I wouldn’t have fallen in love with Beam dream like I have. But seriously, it’s so good. It tastes amazing whether you mix it with water or oat milk.
I don’t take it every night but when I do, it forces me into a better nightly routine. I make a cup of dream roughly 30 minutes before I want to go to bed. Then I climb into bed and read a book (a physical book, not one on my phone) while sipping my warm cup of Beam dream. Honestly I love how relaxing it is, it forces me to quiet down and it’s just something I look forward to after a long day of running around.
What You Won’t Like About It
Late Night Breaks
Ok, so the first two nights I drank a cup of dream powder before bed, I woke up around 11:30pm or 12am to go to the bathroom. As far as falling asleep goes, I felt like I’d been knocked out I fell asleep so quickly. But after night two of waking up to use the restroom, I was wondering if maybe it wasn’t worth it. Obviously when you think about it, you’re drinking a cup of liquid before bed so it makes sense to have to go.
To fix the problem, I changed up my routine. I still sip my cup of dream in bed. Once I’m done though, I wait 10 minutes or so and then get up, brush my teeth and use the restroom. Since then, I rarely have to get up at night to go. Beam also offers dream in a capsule form which would definitely resolve this issue but I like the routine that the cup of dream powder provides.
Price Point
If we’re talking about things you might not like about Beam dream, it’s only fair to bring up the price. Y’all I will fully admit that I am stingy when it comes to spending money on myself. I rarely shop for personal things and I don’t have any subscriptions I pay for except one streaming service. The only reason I even bit the bullet on getting the Beam dream subscription was because my husband suggested we could share it for one month. We opted for the subscription option too because it comes with a cute mug and frother and costs less! Beam offers free cancelation at any time too, so why not get the cute gift with your first purchase?
Well, all that to say we have yet to cancel our subscription and don’t plan on it either. We still share a one month supply (30 scoops) because it is costly and I also don’t want to become fully reliant on using this to fall asleep. Sharing a monthly supply has worked well for us and ensures I don’t take it every single night (not that there is anything wrong with taking it nightly!)
What Does Beam Dream Taste Like?
Beam dream truly tastes like a cinnamon flavored hot chocolate. When you mix it with oat milk (or whatever milk of your choosing) it becomes even more decadent.
I was a big skeptic as far as how the dream powder was going to taste. From someone who usually hates the taste of any flavored CBD or hemp product, this product blew me away with the fact that it doesn’t have that terrible after taste.
The one thing that does get a little bit tough is the last sip or two of dream at the end. If you buy the subscription (which you can cancel at any time), the first package of dream comes with a frother. The frother is key in helping ensure the powder doesn’t stay clumped. But what you may find with the last sip or two is that there is a lot of “settlement”. I try to minimize this by saving enough liquid for the last sip to get it all down because NO DREAM POWDER LEFT BEHIND. This stuff is liquid (powdered) gold people.
Does it Actually Work?
Every single person is different but when Beam surveyed current customers they found that 98% of customers said they fell asleep faster when using dream. Beam also found that 99% experience better sleep quality with dream. If those stats don’t tell you something amazing is up with dream powder then let me tell you about my experience.
For me, I’d say Beam dream works 90% of the time to help me fall asleep. When I put my head on the pillow and the lights go out, my head begins to think about all the things I didn’t get done or need to do tomorrow. Anxiety starts running high and I struggle to calm myself and even slow down my heart rate. Used properly, Beam dream helps me quiet that mental noise and ease into sleep.
I will say that it does not always keep me asleep. Whether I wake up to use the restroom or something else jolts me awake, I don’t always sleep through the night when using Beam dream. I think that’s normal though. This isn’t some miracle drug or a heavy dose of some sleeping pill. Beam dream is a mix of ingredients that have been combined to support sleep and therefore can’t perfectly fix all sleeping scenarios.

I was just wondering how you felt in the morning when you got up? Is it harder to get up on the morning after you’ve taken the beam dream the night before? Do you feel groggy or really sleepy still at all in the morning when you wake up? Is there any kind of hangover effect or any other side effect the following day? Thank you
I am someone who gets super groggy after taking nyquil and things like that. But one reason I personally enjoy beam dream is because it doesn’t give you that heavy feeling first thing in the morning! You really do wake up feeling like you slept and that’s that. Great question and something I’ll add into the blog post soon to clarify. Thanks!
