Heard about Celsius or seen the can somewhere recently and wondered what it is? Celsius has been shaking up the energy drink space with its science backed formula. But is it worth the hype and the price per can? Take a look at what we uncovered for our Celsius drink review and see for yourself!
The Full Breakdown – Celsius Drink Review
Not your typical overnight success story, Celsius actually got its start way back in 2004. After continued hard work and smart investors, the brand finally started seeing a giant success in 2020.
The Celsius brand actually sells five different types of Celsius. You can find the original Celsius drink, along with Celsius Heat, Celsius BCAAs, Celsius-Stevia and Celsius On-the-Go. A single can of Celsius will usually cost you anywhere from $1.40-$2.00+ currently.
For the purpose of today’s Celsius drink review, we’re only going to go through the original Celsius drink.

Taste & Flavor Options
Currently, Celsius offers 12 different flavor options. Those 12 flavors are:
- Tropical Vibe (Starfruit pineapple)
- Strawberry Guava
- Peach Vibe
- Fuji Apple Pear
- Orange
- Kiwi Guava
- Wild Berry
- Watermelon
- Grape Rush
- Cola
There are also two non-carbonated flavors:
- Raspberry Açai Green Tea
- Peach Mango Green Tea
Now be prepared. These drinks are sweet. Sure, they aren’t made with sugar but they are sweetened with sucralose. If you aren’t familiar with sucralose, it is an artificial sweetener like Splenda.
The sweetness of the drinks are offset by the carbonated water which helps. But if you can get past the sweetness, I think you will find that the flavors are pretty darn tasty. As you can see from the list, there are a ton of flavors so you should be able to find one for you. My personal favorite flavor right now is the Strawberry Guava flavor.

Nutrition Facts
Taking a look at the ingredients for this Celsius drink review, you can see that Celsius is a little bit different. For instance, the Sparkling Tropical Vibe flavor contains:
- a specific ratio of green tea extract to boost the metabolism
- Guarana seed extract for a caffeine boost
- Ginger root to help support the thermogenesis process
- Vitamin B to support metabolism and a long list of other benefits
- a immune booster with the help of some vitamin C
- Chromium to aide in controlling hunger and enhancing metabolism
With only 10 calories, 2 carbs, and 0g of sugar, you’re looking at a drink with a low daily macro count. Also, each can contains 200mg of caffeine, which equates to the same amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee.
What Makes Celsius Different?
To me, the biggest thing that makes Celsius unique isn’t the flavors or the ingredients. What sets Celsius apart from its competition is the fact that they don’t just make a statement, they prove it.
What do I mean by that you ask?
Celsius has an entire section of their website dedicated to the science and research behind their beverages. You can download six different metabolic response studies that were conducted in regards to the thermogenic properties contained in Celsius drinks. Sharing this data publicly makes the statement that the company doesn’t have anything to hide and that they are truly backed by science.
You can read the studies for yourself by visiting their website.
What are Thermogenic Properties?
Thermogenic or “heat-producing” properties have been shown to boost a person’s metabolism. These properties result in boosting your body’s effort to burns calories and fat. Celsius claims that by drinking one Celsius drink a day (along with exercising) can have a positive change to your body composition.
When to Drink It?
According to Celsius, you can drink one of their drinks any time of the day. It can also serve as your replacement in the morning to a cup of coffee. But a 10 week study did show that by drinking one Celsius drink a day, before exercising, improved body composition.
Where to Buy a Celsius?
As far as where to buy Celsius products, you can probably find these anywhere you buy your drinks. Whether it’s your local grocery store, pharmacy or gas station Celsius drinks are becoming easier to find.
Use the Celsius site store locator to find a specific Celsius drink or flavor near you. But if you prefer to do your shopping online, you’re in luck! These bad boys are regularly stocked on Amazon to be shipped directly to your door.
As always, we encourage you to do your own research. Again, what’s pretty darn cool about Celsius, is that they provide their studies to the public up front. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any opposing arguments out there.
All that to say, if you’re looking for the next generation of fitness drinks, look no further. These tasty drinks get two thumbs up from the moderately fit team after our Celsius drink review!
